Valentine's Day Fashion Picks

It's almost February which means it's time to start talking about Valentine's Day, whether you're planning a romantic date, a fun day out or are chilling with the girls. Whatever you end up doing, I always find it fun to dress up and have an excuse to wear a bold red lip. Today's post is a collection of items I've found on the UK High Street that would be perfect to channel your inner Audrey or Marilyn this Valentine's Day. Just don't forget Ruby Woo or Russian Red!

Outfit One

My first outfit is a River Island combo that would look stunning with heels and a leather jacket. The lace detail on the top is gorgeous and the skirt is both cute and sophisticated. The print is what I like to call 'modern florals with a twist'.

Outfit Two

Next up I've put together an outfit suitable for a day date, weather dependent obviously. Both the blouse and the leather-look skirt are from New Look. Although this could also be classed as 'office chic', I think the splash of red through the red duster jacket from Luxemme makes it a bit more interesting. Plus, suede is meant to be a huge trend for Spring Summer 2016.

Outfit Three and Four

You really can't go wrong with a red dress on Valentine's Day and I have two options: the first being a bodycon number from Zara and the second being an all-out lace piece from Topshop. The two shades of reds are quite different so it depends if you prefer a more tomato orange-red or a burgundy red. I personally prefer the darker vampy red but I think the Zara dress would look stunning on paler complexions. Both are £39.

Outfit Five

Finally I draw your attention to this beautiful black co-ord from Luxemme. Bardot necklines are still a huge trend for evening wear and you can really go to town adding statement jewellery and accessories to such a simple but classic style. Plus at £35 for both items I think it's a double win.

I hope you enjoyed this post and have acquired a little fashion inspiration when it comes to Valentine's Day. The outfits I've selected are quite simple but I think with they can say a lot without being over the top.
